COA and Diamond Sports Renew Partnership

Sacramento, CA . . . The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced that it has renewed its partnership with Diamond Sports through the year 2006. The terms of the agreement state that Diamond will continue to serve as the official ball supplier of the Hyundai-California Community College Softball Championships, a relationship that began in 1998.

Diamond will provide the model "12 CAL CC" as the official ball to the state championship softball tournaments for the next five years. The softball will have an optic yellow cover, a raised fastpitch stitch in red with an 88-stitch count and 0.47 polyurethane core. The ball will be marked with the COA logo and the text "Official Ball of California Community College Softball".

"Diamond is pleased to continue our relationship with the COA", said Diamond Sports President Andrea Gordon. "Teaming with the COA represents our commitment to California Community College softball and our dedication to providing quality products and service to the softball coaches across the state."

The 2002 Hyundai California Community College softball championship tournament will be held May 11-13 in Fresno, California.

In addition, Diamond Sports will again serve as a sponsor of the Annual COA Convention. Diamond will provide door prizes and giveaways at the yearly event, scheduled for March 20-22, 2002 at the Silver Legacy Hotel in Reno, Nevada.

"Diamond is a true partner to the COA. They have created a special softball to meet the needs of our programs and their staff has always been willing to assist us in ways beyond the terms of their agreement. We truly appreciate their continued support of California community college softball" said COA state commissioner Joanne A. Fortunato.
