2006 California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Football Bowl Game Participants Announced

Sacramento, CA . . . The Community College League of California Commission on Athletics (COA) Football Bowl Game Selection Committee today announced the participants in the COA's 2006 football bowl games.

Final regular-season record, final poll ranking, and designation are in parenthesis.

November 18:

American Bowl, host El Camino College, 6 p.m.
Moorpark (9-1, #5S, #5S playoff seed) vs. El Camino (8-2, #4S, #4S playoff seed)

Bulldog Bowl, host College of San Mateo, 12 p.m.
San Mateo (6-4, #7N) vs. Sequoias (7-3, #5N)

Butte College Century Holiday Bowl, host Butte College, 12 p.m.
Yuba (5-5, #19N, Co-Bay Valley Champ) vs. Monterey Peninsula (9-1, #14N, Co-Coast Champ)

East County Bowl, host Los Medanos College, 1 p.m.

Fresno (8-2, #4N, Valley Champ) vs. San Francisco (9-1, #3N, NorCal Co-Champ)

Southern California Championship Game, hosted by higher seed


December 9:

California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Football Championship
at Chukchansi Park, Fresno, CA


In Northern California, the San Francisco Hawaiian Punch Community College Bowl will serve as the Northern California championship contest.

In Southern California, the National Bowl, Golden Empire Bowl, Southern California Bowl, and American Bowl will serve as first-round playoff games. Regional semifinal (November 25) and championship (December 2) games will be hosted by the higher seed.

The winners of the Northern California and Southern California championship playoff games will advance to the California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Football Championship on December 9, 2006, at Chukchansi Park in Fresno, California. The championship game is an official event of the inaugural 2006-07 COA Championship Festival. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
