The California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced a new partnership with Jostens, Inc. (Jostens) through June 2011. The terms of the agreement designate Jostens as ‘Official Awards Vendor’ of the COA and California community college athletics.
Minneapolis-based Jostens, founded in 1897, is a leading provider of products, programs and services that help people celebrate important moments, recognize achievements and build affiliations. The company's products include yearbooks, class rings, graduation products, school photography and products for athletic champions and their fans.
Jostens will serve as the exclusive provider of medallions, plaques and trophies to nearly 100 events annually, including all COA regional and championship events.
“This new relationship with Jostens has created positive synergy in our statewide awards program,” said Stu Van Horn, COA Associate Executive Director. “Jostens staff has worked closely with the COA for the past six months developing new concepts for our state medallions and trophies, and we are very excited to showcase the new designs at our upcoming fall sports festival.”
The partnership provides Jostens with signage rights, public address announcements and print advertising at all COA championship events. Jostens will also receive in-venue displays and opportunities for additional on-site promotion, including branding at the COA’s Hall of Fame Induction banquet, held during the COA’s annual convention in April.
“Jostens is excited to have been chosen as the official awards vendor for COA and California’s Community college athletics” said John Abel, director of sports marketing for Jostens. “We look forward to helping the organization recognize its top athletes and performers with unique awards that will be cherished for years to come”
