. . . The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced that it has renewed its partnership with HL Corporation through the year 2007. The terms of the agreement state that HL will continue to serve as the official shuttlecock supplier of the Citi California Community College Women's Badminton Championships, a relationship that began during the 1998-99 season.
HL will provide the deluxe model shuttlecock as the official shuttlecock to the women's state championship tournaments for the next three years. The 2005 Citi California Community College Women's Badminton Championships will be held May 13-14 at Fresno City College.
“This extension with HL Corporation is very important to the COA and our continuing efforts to reimburse teams that participate in this wonderful championship and to showcase women’s badminton to the state’s citizenry,” said COA Associate Commissioner Stu Van Horn. “HL has become a trusted, valued partner of the COA and we applaud its continuing commitment to help provide financial support to this incredible sport.”
The partnership provides HL Corporation with signage rights, public address announcements and print advertising the championship. HL Corporation will also receive in-venue displays and opportunities for additional on-site promotion, as well as the opportunity to include information about its products and services in issues of the COA’s on-line monthly corporate partnership E-newsletter, CONTACTSPORTS.
The Commission on Athletics first sanctioned a Women's Badminton Championship in 2000. San Diego Mesa College claimed the team title in 2000 and again in 2001. Irvine Valley College captured the state championship in 2002, 2003 and again in 2004.
