COA Links with Stretch Internet to Broadcast Football Championship

SACRAMENTO, CA . . . The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced its plans to partner with Stretch Internet to broadcast the 2003 California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Football Championship presented by Blue Diamond Growers and the Bakersfield Sports Marketing Council at www.coasports.org via streaming audio technology.

Based in Fullerton, California, Stretch Internet produces athletic broadcasts using the latest in Internet technology. Stretch streams its broadcasts over QuickTime Player at rates that allow anyone with Internet access to listen, from the user on the high-bandwidth DSL or cable connection to the user who dials in on a modem connection.

The 2003 California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Football Championship presented by Blue Diamond Growers and the Bakersfield Sports Marketing Council will be played at Bakersfield College’s Memorial Stadium on December 13. The game, which will feature the two teams advancing from the northern and southern California regional playoff rounds, is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. kick-off. The broadcast will be available by visiting the Football section of www.coasports.org, and will begin at 12:45 p.m. on game day.

Veteran play-by-play announcer Rob Buska, in his third year as Cal State Fullerton's broadcaster, along with color commentator Steve Henkle, will serve as the on-air team for the inaugural broadcast.

“The COA is delighted to partner with Stretch Internet to bring our championship game into the homes of California community college football fans everywhere”, said COA sports information director David Eadie. “On a regular basis, we hear from parents, friends and fans across the country who use the information on our website to follow their favorite sports. Stretch Internet understands the uniqueness of community college athletics and we’re looking forward to an exciting debut into Internet broadcasting on December 13th.”
