COA and Office Depot Ink
Three-Year Partnership
SACRAMENTO, CA
. . . The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced a partnership with Office Depot, Inc. through June 2006. The terms of the agreement state that Office Depot® will be designated as the “Exclusive Office Equipment/Supplies Provider” of the COA and California community colleges athletics. The agreement is unique for the COA, as the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC) is also a partner in the arrangement.
Office Depot, Inc., founded in 1986, operates more than 1,000 office supply stores, direct mail, global Internet sites, business-to-business e-commerce, and sales forces. The company's selection of brand name office supplies includes business machines, computers, computer software and office furniture, while its leading-edge business services encompass copying, printing, document reproduction, mailing and shipping. Office Depot's customers include small office/home office, medium-sized and large businesses located in the U.S. and in 20 other countries around the globe.
The partnership will provide COA-member colleges with exceptional contract pricing through Office Depot’s Contract Business Services division as well as discounted purchasing opportunities at Office Depot retail stores.
“This represents a huge step in the continued maturation of our product-driven statewide partnership program. Securing an agreement with a worldwide entity helps our program continue to grow in size and stature,” said COA Associate Commissioner Stu Van Horn. “We are looking forward to working with the Foundation and jointly increasing Office Depot’s presence and niche in our difficult-to-reach marketplace,” he said.
The partnership provides Office Depot with signage rights, public address announcements and print advertising at all COA championship events. Office Depot will also receive in-venue displays and opportunities for additional on-site promotion.
