COA Reloads Sponsorship Agreement with Matrix Group

SACRAMENTO, CA . . . The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced a sponsorship with Matrix Group Limited, Inc., for women’s and men’s volleyball (through 2006) and men’s wrestling (through 2005). The terms of the agreement state that Spike Nashbar will be designated as the “Official Sponsor” of the California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Women’s and Men’s Volleyball Championships and WrestlingOne will carry the designation at the COA Wrestling Championship.

Matrix recently acquired VolleyballOne and WrestlingOne; both were COA sponsors. Matrix will continue to brand the WrestlingOne name, and has established Spike Nashbar as its volleyball brand. The Florida-based Matrix produces full color sport catalogs, offering a large selection of products, for both volleyball and wrestling. These products are also available via the Internet, at SpikeNashbar.com and WrestlingOne.com.

“We are delighted that Matrix will continue this partnership,” said COA Associate Commissioner Stu Van Horn. “Matrix’s investment in our volleyball and wrestling championships will help us provide a first-class, quality experience for each participating student athlete.”

The partnership provides Matrix with signage rights, public address announcements and print advertising at each respective championship. Matrix will also receive in-venue displays and opportunities for additional on-site promotion.

“Matrix values its relationship with the COA and is committed to its participants. We continually seek out new, hard to find products, for the serious athletes in both sports,” said Louis Orloff, owner of Matrix.

The 2003 California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Women’s Volleyball Championship will be held December 6-7 at Irvine Valley College (Irvine, CA), and the 2004 Men’s Championship will be competed at Golden West College (Huntington Beach, CA) on April 30. The 2003 California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Wrestling Championship is scheduled for December 12-13 at West Valley College (Saratoga, CA)
