COA and FieldTurf Enter Partnership

SACRAMENTO, CA. . . The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced a new partnership with FieldTurf through the year 2005. The terms of the agreement state that FieldTurf will be designated as the “Official Synthetic Surface of the COA”.

FieldTurf replicates a natural grass surface, but offers the durability and cost benefits of synthetic fields. FieldTurf is a safe alternative, resulting in a documented reduction of sports injuries. FieldTurf surfaces deliver optimal performance in wet or dry conditions and provide the ideal playing conditions all year long. A totally porous system, FieldTurf is specially engineered to provide maximum drainage. Each blade of FieldTurf grass is UV protected and is resistant to the most extreme temperatures.

"FieldTurf is pleased to have been given the opportunity to work with the COA and looks forward to the day when quality competitions can take place on our fields," said John Gilman, C.E.O. of FieldTurf, Inc. "Any athletic contest is more interesting and exciting to watch when the playing surface allows the athletes to play their best. FieldTurf provides the best playability in all conditions, and produces a consistently high performance surface for today's elite athletes. Our patented grass system was designed to replicate not only real grass, but the best real grass. FieldTurf's proven track record can only be a bonus to the fine athletes that the COA oversees. We look forward to a long, enjoyable relationship with the COA and its member institutions."

The agreement features an array of benefits to California community colleges. COA member schools will receive discounts on surface prices, field painting and will enjoy priority installation. FieldTurf will be featured at COA championship events by way of signage rights, public address announcements and print advertising.

“The COA is pleased to welcome FieldTurf as the newest COA corporate partner”, said COA Associate Commissioner Stu Van Horn. “The benefits to COA member colleges, as well as FieldTurf’s commitment to customer service, are the key elements of this alliance.”

FieldTurf is a privately held company based in Montreal, and also offers a full range of golf, landscaping and playground artificial grass solutions. To contact FieldTurf, please visit www.fieldturf.com, or call (800) 724-2969.
