COA and Spalding Extend Volleyball Partnership

SACRAMENTO, CA. . . The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced that it has extended its existing partnership with Spalding Sports Worldwide through the year 2007. The terms of the agreement state that Spalding will continue to serve as the official ball supplier of the California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Women's Volleyball Championships, a relationship that began in 1995.

"We are pleased to continue this important affiliation with Spalding as the official ball of women's volleyball. Our coaches appreciate Spalding's continued support and the high quality of the volleyball," said COA Associate Commissioner Stu Van Horn.

Spalding will provide the TF4000 volleyball as the official ball to the women's state championship tournaments for the remainder of the agreement. The TF4000 is also the official ball for the NCAA Volleyball Championships.

"This is a solid partnership between the COA, the volleyball coaches and Spalding Sports Worldwide," stated Spalding Representative Chris Sims. "The coaches have asked to maintain use of our quality TF4000 NCAA Volleyball for an extended period of time. We appreciate their loyalty."

The 2003 California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Women's Volleyball Championships will be held December 5 – 7 at Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California.

Today's announcement is only the latest agreement between Spalding Sports Worldwide and the COA. The Chicopee, Massachusetts based ball manufacturer is also the official ball supplier for the COA's women's and men's basketball championships.

Spalding Sports Worldwide can be reached through the web site www.spalding.com.
