COA Fall Championships Festival Sporting Geography® is a
lesson plan based activity kit, developed for hands-on use in the classroom.
Students find the program motivating and learn a great deal about their home
team, its opponents, and the geography in-between.
As a participating teacher,
you will receive a free packet of reproducible materials covering 11 weeks beginning
in November 2005. Kit materials include lesson plans, desk maps, a teacher's
guide, an answer key, reference pages, and extra credit activities all
designed to follow the California Community Colleges State Championships in
golf, cross country, water polo, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, football, and
basketball. This program is ideal for grades 3 through 8. Materials address
California Content Standards for History-Social Science. Kit materials are free
to teachers thanks to sponsorship from California Community Colleges.
