COA Annual Convention to Feature Lopiano and Welty - Two of the country’s leading experts on gender equity are scheduled to be keynote speakers during the Commission on Athletics (COA) 5th Annual Convention, March 20-22, in Reno, NV. Angel to Speak at COA Silver Anniversary Celebration - The Commission on Athletics (COA) has acknowledged the 2001-02 sport season as the 25th year of women’s participation in California Community College athletics. This milestone will be highlighted at the COA’s 5th Annual Convention at the Peppermill Hotel in Reno, NV, March 20-22. One of several featured speakers at the 2002 event will be Jill Angel, a 1999 inductee into the California Community College Sports Hall of Fame. <Read Full Story...>

Celebration Luncheon is a 'hot ticket' at COA Convention - Sales to stop at 10:00 a.m. on March 22. The Celebration of Student Athletes Luncheon will sell individual tickets for the event up to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2002. Tickets for the event will not be sold after 10:00 a.m. Those not reserving a seat prior to 10:00 a.m. will not be allowed to attend the celebration luncheon. To register for the event, please print the convention registration form from the COA website, complete and return with check made payable to the COA to Rima Trotter, COA, 2017 "O" Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. The cost of the celebration event is $25 prior to March 1 and $30 on/after March 1, 2002.

First 250 Registrants to Receive Mikasa briefcase -
The COA will provide complimentary Mikasa brand briefcases to the first 250 people registering for the convention. To receive your Mikasa briefcase, make sure to complete and return your registration today. All those qualifying will be provided the briefcase upon arrival.
