Game Notes- Golden West jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the Long Beach in the
first half, however after the intermission it was all Vikings. Long Beach, who
missed two penalty throws in the first half, made two penalty throws in the
second half and scored five unanswered goals. Long Beachs title drive
was led by their goalie, State MVP Kevin Kinnear, he recorded 10 saves and guided
a stifling defense that nearly equaled his total in field blocks. Long Beach
on its first state title since 1988, while the Rustlers lost their third straight
title game.

Game Notes- Riverside capped a fantastic season with a 7-5 overtime win over
the two-time defending State Champion Long Beach Vikings. The Tigers entered
the game with a 23-gam winning streak, but after pulling out to a 3-1 lead they
let the Vikings charge back to take a 5-4 lead. Sophomore Corrie Stuursma tied
the game at five and sent the game into overtime. . Stuursma and freshman Layla
Bahzadian each scored in the second overtime to clinch the title for the Tigers
and end the Vikings two year run at the top.
