2000 HYUNDAI-CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FACT SHEET

DATE: December 1-3, 2000

SITE: San Joaquin Delta College Gymnasium; 5151 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA, 95207-6304

HOST/EVENT MANAGER: The Golden Valley Conference is hosting; the event manager is Mary Ann Paz, San Joaquin Delta College, (209) 954-5206.

DIRECTIONS: Exit Interstate 5 at March Lane, east to Pershing Avenue, north to Delta College entrance east of Pershing Avenue.

TIMES: Friday, Dec. 1: two concurent games at 6 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2: two concurrent games at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m.; championship bracket game at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3: elimination games at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.; championship game at 5 p.m., with second game to follow if necessary.

TEAMS: Top four teams from Northern California; top four teams from Southern California. Representatives determined by a seeded 16-team tournament played in two rounds in each region (November 21 and 25), with higher-seeded team hosting each regional game.

STATE DRAW: Double elimination tournament.

RULES: All matches are best 3-out-of-5 games. Rally scoring takes place in 5th games only.

SPONSOR: Hyundai Motor America is official title sponsor for all State Championship events. Stockton Sports Commission is the presenting sponsor. Spalding Sports is the official ball sponsor (TF4000 NCAA Gold model). Pepsi, LevelEdge.com, Blue Diamond, Justballs and Adidas are system-wide sponsors.

SANCTION: Hyundai-California Community College Volleyball Championship is sanctioned by the Commission On Athletics.

TICKETS: Available at door. General admission daily passes are $8 per day; $5 for identified students, faculty, staff and senior citizens; $1 per entry for youth groups of eight or more; Children under 12 admitted free.
