COA Women's Volleyball Championship
December 9-11, 2005
Selland Arena, Fresno, CA

An official event of the 2005-06
COA Championship Festival
presented by US Bank

Delta, Orange Coast and El Camino Survive Day 2

FRESNO - Top seeds Orange Coast and San Joaquin Delta will be joined by El Camino on the final day of the 2005 California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Women's Volleyball Championships presented by U.S. Bank in the Selland Arena.

Orange Coast (25-0) advanced to tomorrow's state championship game to be staged a 1 p.m. The Pirates knocked off Delta in an afternoon winner's bracket contest and will take on the winner of Delta and El Camino after the two square off at 10 a.m.

Coast had its season-long 73-game winning streak snapped in game two against the Mustangs, but pulled out the final two games to return to the state title game for the first time since 2001. A new champion will be crowned after 12-time defending champion Golden West was eliminated in the first round of the Southern California regionals.

El Camino stayed alive with back-to-back five-game wins over West Valley and then L.A. Pierce to stay alive with a 3-1 record over the first two days. Orange Coast and Delta won morning matches over Pierce and El Camino, respectively, to move to 2-0.
