2003 Inductees

Hugh Gerhardt
Hugh Gerhardt was a member of the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association and the Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Cuesta College for nine years. From 1984 until 1992 he lead the Cougars to six conference championships and three second place finishes. During this span he directed Cuesta to 183 overall wins and only 38 losses. His conference record stands at 143 wins and 12 losses. In 1985 and 1986, Hugh was the first coach/team to win back to back state Championship Titles. In 1985 and 1992, he was the Western State Conference Coach of the Year. He was also honored by the CCCWCA in 1986 as the State Coach of the Year.

Hugh participated in Soccer at Foothill College in 1976 and 1977, helping the team to win the Soccer State Championship in 1976. Hugh then went to De Anza College to play volleyball. Hugh graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Physical Education and is currently teaching P.E. and coaching Cross Country and Men's Volleyball at Palomar College.

Hugh is here today with his wife Sheryl and their 11 month old baby girl, Elizabeth.
