Sharkie Zartman
Sharkie Zartman coached at El Camino College for a decade, from 1976 to 1985. During that time, she won 9 league titles, 3 regional titles and 2 state titles. Her league record is 136-4, while her overall record (not including tournaments) is 150-12. She was named "Coach of the Year" for nine seasons.

She currently serves on the program committee for the new grass roots United States Youth Volleyball League, and was named to the California Beach Volleyball Hall of Fame. She was also honored this year as being one of the top 25 volleyball athletes at UCLA.

Sharkie is still coaching at the junior level. Her Spoiler team won the Davis Festival in 1995 and was a finalist in 1997. She was honored at the 1997 Kaepa Volleyball Festival with a "Distinguished Service Award to Junior Volleyball". She is still a full time professor at El Camino College where she teaches Health, Volleyball, and Fitness.

Her first book was published in 1997 for Betterway Publishers, entitled, Youth Volleyball: The Guide for Parents and Coaches. She is currently under contract to Simon Schuster and is finishing her second book entitled, The Road to Fitness, which will be available in the summer of 1998 for textbook adoption in college fitness courses.

Sharkie Zartman is married to Pat Zartman and they have two daughters, Teri and Chrissie. Teri is currently playing volleyball at UCI and Chrissie is playing at Bishop Montgomery. Both Teri and Chrissie have been named to the US Youth Beach Volleyball Training Team.
