MT. SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE CAPTURES SECOND CONSECUTIVE HYUNDAI-COA
WOMEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

Mt. San Antonio College captured its second consecutive Hyundai-California Community College Women's Golf Championship at Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert.
The Mounties beat out three other colleges as the posted a two-day, 36-hole total of 658, 31 strokes better than runner-up College of the Canyons and 38 strokes ahead of third-place Foothill College
Linda Fu led the Mounties with a two-day total of 159, including an open-round of 78. Mt. San Antonio, however, won the championship as golfers two through five all managed to post scores in the 160s Rosalin Chung (167), Shelly Shelton (167), Kim Melrose (168) and Kathy Mitchell (168).
Cypress College's Russamee Gullyanamitta won the individual championship by shooting back-to-back scores in the 70s, including a final round 73 over the tight Ted Robinson designed course. He two-day total was 151, just one shot better than Fullerton's Hye Yoon Juan (81-71).
