I. Date and Location
a. November 17, 2003

II. Qualifying
a. Top two teams from So Cal Tournament and Nor Cal Tournament
b. Top ten individuals by scoring averages at regional tournaments, including
the players on the top two teams.
c. Alternate(s); if needed for individual players, will be in order of next
lowest scoring average beyond top ten and of players not on qualifying teams
at regional tournaments.
III. Format
a. 18-hole medal/stroke play.
IV. Pairings
a. Individuals followed by teams.
V. Starting Times
a. Play begins at 8:30 a.m.
VI. Rules of Play and
Conduct
a. The State Championship will be governed by the USGA rules of golf, local
rules sheet, and BVC post-conference championship rules.
b. Play will be from the forward tees. Total yardage 5,773.
VII. Carts and Caddies
a. Each player shall walk and carry or pull her own clubs throughout the championship.
Pull carts must be rented for $13.
b. Exceptions to "a" above are detailed in the COA Women's Golf Supplement.
VIII. Practice
a. No practice or competition rounds of golf will be allowed by players at Auburn
Valley Country Club within 7-days of the championship.
b. We will be having a Coaches Tournament on Sunday, November 16th. Starting
times are 1:30/1:39/1:48/1:57. The $25 charge to be paid by each participating
coach. Players will be able to walk the course with their coach at that time.
Please call me and let me know if you and your players will be participating
in the tournament walk through.
IX. Dress/Shoes
a. Participants shall dress in team uniform, i.e. collared shirt and if shorts
or skirt are worn the length must be below the middle of thigh.
X. Protests
a. Rules protests will be acted upon by the head NCGA rules official.
XI. Spectators
a. Spectators will be allowed to walk the course as long as they stay on the
cart paths and do not disturb the participants.
XII. Awards
a. Team trophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
b. Medals for 1st place team members, 2nd place team members and top six low
individuals over the field.
XIII. Scoring
a. The team championship shall be determined by totaling the lowest four scores
of six players score.
b. The individual champion shall be the player with the lowest score for the
championship.
c. Rule 6-6 a. Recording score. Each player will keep one other competitors
score and their own. If more than one player keeps a competitors score, each
shall sign for the part for which she is responsible.
Rule 6-6 b. After completion of the round, the competitor should check her score
for each hole and settle any doubtful points with the rules/scoring committee.
She shall ensure that the player keeping her score has signed the card, countersign
the card herself and return to the scoring table as soon as possible.
Rule 6-6 c. No alteration may be made on a card after the competitor has returned
it to the committee.
Rule 6-6 d. The competitor is responsible for the correctness of the score recorded
for each hole on her card. A score lower than actually taken will result in
disqualification. A score higher than taken will stand.
NOTE 1: the scoring committee
is responsible for the addition of scores.
d. Ties - team and individual low six medallists
i. Teams: as time and conditions permit, hole 1, 2 and 3 will be used for sudden
death playoffs, counting the four best scores after each hole. If the tie continues,
the scorecards of the low 4 players on each tied team or tied individuals will
be matched using the USGA rules listed below.
1. the low four score cards used to determine tied teams will compare the back
nine; or individual cards will be matched
2. when tied and all low 4 players score cards from tied teams have same back
nine total, or individuals have same back nine total, the winner shall be determined
by comparing the last six holes, the last three holes and if still tied, the
18th hole!
XIV. Food and Beverage

XV. Driving Range
a. Range balls will be provided for teams and individuals on Monday morning
starting at 8:00 a.m.
b. Teams or individuals arriving Sunday afternoon will be charged regular range
prices, $5.00 for a pyramid of 55 balls. Putting green and chipping/sand area
no charge.
XVI. Golf Coaches
a. Coaches meeting will be on November 16th after our coaches' tournament at
the host hotel. We will go over tournament rules at this time.
b. We will need your assistance during the tournament to supervise, spot, or
cart athletes from green to tees.
XX. Notification of Qualifiers
a. Each coach should fax the correct spelling of qualifying individual(s) or
the line-up of their team members (pairings will be based on the order you send
the names), including alternates, immediately following Social & Nor Cal
championships. Please send names of players and up to two coaches names by Tuesday,
November 11, 2003.

XXI. Hotel Information
Our Choice Hotel Selection
a. Comfort Suites, 6830 Five Star Blvd., Rocklin, CA. 95677: 916-315-1300.
They are holding 20 rooms at a special rate of $89.00 per room. This includes
at deluxe breakfast. Ask for the California Community College Women's Golf rate.
They will only hold these rooms until November 5th.
XXII. Entry Fee
a. $30 per player ($180 for six player team). Entry includes green fees, range
balls, carts for coaches, awards and player souvenir.
b. Cash or checks only. Make checks payable to "Sierra College Women's
Golf" and turn in before play begins Monday, November 17th.
