College of the Canyons, led by Courtney Renfro and Susan Latch, captured the 2001 Hyundai California Community College Women's Golf Championship today with a team score of 694 over the course of the two-day, 36-hole tournament. Mt. San Antonio College finished in second place with a team score of 711, followed by American River College (755) and Fresno City College (778).

Moorpark College's Jennifer Stopka won the individual state trophy with a two-day total of 164. Placing second was Fullerton's Jeri Costello (165), followed by Canyons' Renfro (167).

Participants played 18 holes on November 19 and 18 holes on November 20.
