2002 California Community College Softball Championships

FACT SHEET

Date: May 10-12, 2002

Site: Buchanan High School Softball Complex; Clovis, CA

Directions: To Buchanan, exit Herndon Avenue in north Fresno from
Freeway 41.
Drive east on Herndon and turn left on Peach Avenue (by car dealership).
Drive north and turn right on Nees Avenue. Softball Complex is located on
the campus of the Buchanan Education Center. Turn left and enter via the
driveway by the football stadium off Nees between Peach and Minnewawa.

Times:

Friday, May 10
12 noon: #1 North, West Valley (48-7) vs. #4 South, Fullerton (38-11)
12 noon: #2 South, Cypress (44-6) vs. #3 North, Shasta (37-13)
2 p.m.: #2 North, Sierra (40-7) vs. #3 South, Palomar (40-4)
2 p.m.: #1 South, Long Beach (44-3) vs. #4 North, San Mateo (34-10)

12 noon winners play at 5 p.m.
2 p.m. winners play at 7 p.m.
Losers return Saturday morning

Saturday, May 11
• Games at 12 noon, 2 p.m.
• Games at 5 p.m., 7 p.m.

Sunday, May 12
• Loser's Bracket game at 12 noon, Championship at 2 p.m.
• "If necessary game" to follow at approximately 4 p.m.

Teams: Top four regional qualifiers from North & South

Draw: Double-Elimination Tournament

Sponsors: Blue Diamond Growers, Pepsi-Cola, Renaissance Agencies Inc., Snug Harbor Wovens, Buzz on Campus, Herff Jones, BSNSports.com and Russell Athletic are statewide COA sponsors. Diamond Sports is the official game ball provider. Ringor Classics is the official shoe of the tournament.

Sanction: The championship is sanctioned by the Commission on
Athletics.

Tickets: Tournament prices: $4 general; $2 identified students,
faculty, staff, senior citizens, and children under 12; $6 daily pass; $15
tournament pass.
