1999 Pepsi Scholar Athletes

Jackie RobinsonRyan Heitmann , Taft College

Heitmann, the top starting pitcher for the Taft baseball team last spring, had a 3.95 cumulative GPA as a sophomore and had only one grade that was less than "A" in two years. He was student body president at Taft as a sophomore, when he recorded the highest GPA in the school, and was named the college's 1999 commencement speaker.




Jackie RobinsonRebecca Lane , Santa Barbara City College

Lane played both basketball and softball at Santa Barbara City while recording a 3.93 GPA. She was among the top 20 hitters in the state as an outfielder last spring. She is very active in her church and community, and was a tutor in the SBCC history department.
