CC FOOTBALL COACHES’ 40-YEAR RIVALRY ENDS FRIDAY

One of the oldest lifelong rivalries between two college coaches reaches a fitting climax Friday night (Sept. 30) in Oakland.
Retiring Laney College head coach Stan Peters hosts City College of San Francisco and coach George Rush in a battle of unbeaten (4-0) community college football powers at 7 pm.

The California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics (COA) will release the names of the 2004 California Community College football bowl game participants, as selected by the COA Football Bowl Game Selection Committee, on the official COA website, www.coasports.org, no later than 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 14. The announcement will also be distributed to California media outlets. Telephone, fax and email inquiries will not be honored. COA sanctioned regional bowl games are as follows...

The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced that the Citi California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Football Championship presented by Blue Diamond will be held at the Centex Homes Mineral King Bowl in Visalia, California on December 11, 2004 and be hosted by College of the Sequoias (COS), the City of Visalia, and the Giant Athletic Foundation.

COA Kicks-Off New Football Sponsorship with Wilson; Championship Game Returns to Bakersfield in 2003

The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced a new partnership with Wilson Sporting Goods through the year 2005. The terms of the agreement state that Wilson will be designated as the “Official Ball” of the California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Football Championship.
The COA also announced that the California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Football Championship will return to Bakersfield College’s Memorial Stadium in 2003.
