Sacramento, CA . . . The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced a new corporate partnership with Renaissance Agencies, Inc. Renaissance provides student health and intercollegiate sports insurance, and is the first-ever COA partner in the "insurance" consumer category. The terms of the agreement provide Renaissance with the designation of "Exclusive Insurance Provider of the COA" through the 2004 calendar year.
"This is another opportunity to brand the COA in a new marketplace," said Associate Commissioner Stu Van Horn. "We look forward to working with various segments of the campus community to make them aware of our partnership with Renaissance when they make their insurance decisions at local colleges", he said.
Renaissance Agencies, Inc. specializes in the development, placement and administrative support of student health insurance programs. The company’s exclusive goal is to prepare the most cost-effective program offering the highest benefits available to college and university students. To this end, Renaissance has established relationships with virtually every major underwriter of student health and intercollegiate sports insurance in the United States.
"On behalf of everyone at Renaissance Agencies, we would like to express our enthusiasm in accepting this new and challenging partnership with the Commission on Athletics", said Peter Ginnegar, Renaissance Director of Marketing for Athletic Programs. "The history and respect the COA has enjoyed and the overall diversity of its student base is indeed impressive."
Renaissance will be featured at COA championship events, by way of signage rights, public address announcements and print advertising. In addition, Renaissance will serve as a major sponsor of the COA Hall of Fame Banquet and the Student Celebration Luncheon. Both events take place during the COA Annual Convention, held this year March 20-22 at the Peppermill Hotel in Reno, NV.
"Our primary goal will be to serve the accident and health insurance needs of the institutions and their respective students with the highest level of service and professionalism", Ginnegar added. "With over 25 years of experience in providing individualized accident and health insurance to colleges and universities, we are confident that a relationship with Renaissance Agencies will prove beneficial to the COA and its member schools."
