COA and Mikasa Renew Water Polo Partnership

Sacramento, CA . . . The California Community College Commission on Athletics (COA) today announced that it has renewed its existing water polo partnership with Mikasa Sports USA through the year 2004. Mikasa will continue to serve as the exclusive official ball supplier of the California Community College Women's and Men's Water Polo Regional and State Championships.

"Mikasa is a tremendous company and we are extremely pleased to renew this agreement with them. They have an outstanding product and, as a company, they have been very willing to support the work of the COA in its continuing efforts to provide a first-class, quality experience for the student athletes participating in the state water polo championships," said Associate Commissioner Stu Van Horn.

Mikasa will provide the W6000 and W6009 as the official water polo balls to both the women's and men's state championship tournaments for the next three years.

"We at Mikasa Sports USA are very pleased to continue our sponsorship of the COA water polo program. We are once again gratified that the Mikasa W6000 and W6009 water polo balls have been selected as the ‘official water polo balls’ for all COA men’s and women’s regional and state championships. We look forward to our three-year commitment and wish COA and its water polo program the best of success," said Richard McCoy, President of Mikasa Sports USA.

Today's announcement is only the latest agreement between Mikasa Sports USA and the COA. The Irvine, California based ball manufacturer is also the official ball supplier for the COA's men's volleyball championships and men's and women's soccer championships.
