California Track & Engineering Completes Renovation of Hughes Stadium
Track & Field Facility

California Track & Engineering, Inc.(CTE), the "Official Sponsor of the California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Track and Field Championship" has completed a major renovation of the Track & Field Facility at Hughes Stadium on the campus of Sacramento City College. Included in the project were; the resurfacing of the track oval and total replacement of the high jump, long jump/triple jump, pole vault and hammer/discus field event areas. The track oval was resurfaced with a Rekortan® 5mm embedded overlay and the event areas were surfaced with Rekortan® M99 full depth poured in place polyurethane surfacing.

This renovation reestablishes Hughes Stadium as one of the premier Track & Field facilities in California. Hughes Stadium has been host to countless major meets including the USATF Nationals (1995), the California High School State Meet and numerous major community college events. It will again serve as the Northern site of the California High School State Meet.

California Track & Engineering, Inc., which has entered into a partnership with the COA through 2005, is a California company headquartered in Fresno. CTE is authorized installer for the world class Rekortan® surface that has been used at the national and international level for over 20 years. Other recent Community College projects completed by CTE include Santa Rosa Junior College and Chabot College, host of the 2003 California Community Colleges Track & Field Championships.

CTE is looking forward to working with other community colleges on their upcoming Track & Field improvements. For more information regarding CTE, our products and our services contact Jeb Burgess at 559-237-2590 or email jeb@californiatrackcom.
