State Entry Information: All Regional Directors (both North and South) must fax Rob DeWitt at (209)-954-5696 by 9:00 am, Monday, May 5, 2003 to enter all qualified singles and doubles players. Please follow up with a phone call to insure that the results have been received. Call (209)-954-5176 to verify.

Banquet: Thursday, May 8, at 5:30 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel. The banquet is FREE to all tennis players who have qualified for the state tournament. Coaches and guests must pay $25 per person, payable at the door. Make checks payable to CCCTCA. Please call Roxanne Bava at San Joaquin Delta College (209)-954-5176 by 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5 to make seating reservations for state qualifying players plus any coaches and guests.

Tournament Draw: The singles and doubles draw will take place on Thursday, May 8, at 4:00 p.m. at the Marina Club while the team championships are being played.

Entry Fee: Thanks to the sponsorship of Wilson Racquet Sports, no entry fee is charged. Wilson has also provided the balls used in the championship at not cost.

Format: The North regional team champions will play the South regional team champions to determine both a men's and a women's State Team Champion. The same format is used for both the men's and women's matches: nine (9) possible points in the team scoring with one (1) point awarded to the winner of each of six (6) singles matches and three (3) doubles matches. Individual matches are best-2-out-of-3 sets with singles matches played first. The first college to reach five (5) team points wins the contest and the remaining matches need not be played.

Lineups: If the lineup differs from that used in the Regional Team Championship match, the new lineup must be submitted by the coach to the Tournament Director not later than 8:30 a.m. before the men's final and 11:00 a.m. before the women's final.

Trainer: An athletic trainer will be on site beginning at 8:30 a.m. Please bring your own training supplies.

Shower Facilities: Shower facilities are available to tournament participants. Please bring your own towel.

Racquet Stringing: Stringing services are available on site.

Practice Courts: Practice courts will be available at 8:00 a.m. for the men and 11:00 a.m. for the women. Additional practice courts are available at all times at San Joaquin Delta College.

Rules Meeting: a meeting with all officials, players and coaches will take place at 10:15 a.m. for the men and at 12:45 a.m. for the women. At this time, a brief review of the rules covering State Team Championship play will be conducted along with introductions of players, coaches and officials. Coaches should familiarize their players with the rules contained in the 2003 edition of the COA Tennis Supplement.

Entry Fee: Singles, $40 per person
Doubles, $40 per team

Format: Separate singles and doubles tournaments, 16 draw, single elimination. All matches are best 2 out of 3.

Qualifiers: The top eight (8) singles and top eight (8) doubles teams from both the North and South regional tournaments are invited to play for individual singles and doubles state championships. First round matches will feature a North versus South pairing.

Check-in: Singles players and doubles teams must check in 15 minutes before their scheduled match time.

Trainer: An athletic trainer will be on site beginning at 7:30 a.m. Please bring your own training supplies.

Shower Facilities: Shower facilities are available to tournament participants. Please bring your own towel.

Racquet Stringing: Stringing services will be available on site.

Practice Courts: Practice courts are available at any time at San Joaquin Delta College. Practice courts are available at the Marina Club at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9 and at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10.
