Jeroen Van Ruler picked up two titles at the California Community College championships
at Copper River Country Club in Fresno.
Van Ruler captured the singles
title by defeating College of the Deserts Anthony Gomez 7-6, 6-3 and later
teamed with partner Jason Mossembekker to win the doubles final over Fresno
City College's Daniel Ndlela and Frank Scalia 6-2, 6-3.
In the women's singles final,
Orange Coast College's Michelle Esquival capped a perfect weekend by defeating
Saddleback's Amanda Varela 6-2, 6-2 for her back to back state championships.
Esquival also won the doubles
title the day before with teammate Jessica Rice and was a member of the OCC
team that won the dual team championship on Friday.
Last year, Esquival won
the singles title while playing for Santa Ana.
