NOTES: Ventura College won its first Men's Swimming and Diving State Championship in dominating fashion. The Pirates were led by Men's State Coach of the Year Larry Baratte and State Swimmer of the Year Cheyne O' Gorman. Baratte led the Pirates to an undefeated season and to wins in three of the five relays, while O' Gorman won three individual events as the meets top individual point scorer. Teammate Brett Todd also won two individual events to help the Bucs' effort. Defending State Champion Golden West won the final event, the 400 Freestyle Relay, but it wasn't enough to hold onto the title. In diving, SD Mesa's Andrew Skewes was named the State Diver of the Year after winning the three-meter title and his coach Kristy Clemens was named the State Diving Coach of the Year. Modesto's Bryan Haile won the award for the Best Performance at the State Meet when he won the 100 breaststroke (:55.58).

NOTES: Women's State Coach of the Year Jill McCormick led her Bear Cubs to their second consecutive State Title over a very talented field. Santa Rosa overcame a win by Sierra College in the final event, the 400 Free Relay, and five individual State Titles posted by the Orange Coast Pirates, including three wins by co-State Swimmer of the Year Kimberlee Frith. Frith shared the award with Ohlone's Erin Morgan, who also won three events, including the Women's Performance of the Meet in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.47). Saddleback's Alyssa Gibson was named the State Diver of the Year after winning on both boards and Adam Balistreri of Grossmont was named the Women's Diving Coach of the Year.
