Bill Cunerty
Saddleback College, 1980-Present
Bill
has coached his teams to 20 Conference championships, 8 Regional championships,and
has won 5 state titles . Many of his former players have gone on and played
successfully at the four year level. Bill is an outstanding teacher of the game
and his teams are always disciplined and carry themselves with a lot of class.
Bill attended USC 1964-1968.
He played football and baseball at USC.
Bill is currently Vice President
of the SCGA. He also coached football at Saddleback where they were National
Champions in 1996. Currently he is also the Womens golf coach where they
are just coming off winning the State championship in 2003.Bill is the first
coach in COA history to win State Championships in three different sports. He
has written the outstanding golf book Sequential Golf. Bill is also
a terrific player in his own right.
Ray Carrasco
Santa Ana College, 1964-1965
Ray played golf for the
legendary Coach Pirtle at Santa Ana during the 1964-1965 seasons. He led his
team to their first State championship in Golf in 1965. Ray was all-conference
both seasons and finished in the top three in Conference finals .Ray earned
a scholarship to San Diego State University where he excelled during both the
1966-1967 seasons. Again he was all-conference both seasons in leading the Aztecs.
Ray went on to play professional
golf and is currently playing part time on the Senior Tour. Ray is considered
one of the top instructors of the game. He currently teaches at both Strawberry
Farms and Oak Creek Golf Course. Ray plays in many charity events and gives
back to his community.
Mark Weibe
Palomar College, 1976-1977
Mark was a terrific player
for Palomar College during the 1976-1977 seasons. He was all-conference both
seasons.He put up low numbers all season and still holds the Palomar record
with a 6 under par 66. He capped off a great career at Palomar by winning low
medalist honors at the 1977 state championship. Mark went on to star at San
Jose State University for two seasons.
Mark is currently playing
professionally and has Two PGA victories to his credit
