Central Valley Conference Basketball
"Players of the Week"


MEN: West Hills College, ANDREW CRIADO (Sophomore Guard, 6-0, Mendota High School) helped the Falcons win a pair of conference games and earn a spot in Northern California’s Top 15 rankings at No. 12. Criado scored a game-high 21 points (4-7, 3FGs) with 4 assists in Saturday’s 87-84 come-from-behind victory over Modesto. On Wednesday, he sank five 3-pointers and finished with 18 points (4 assists, 4 rebounds, steal) in a 75-66 win over Merced.

WOMEN (Co-Player): Fresno City College, ALEX PEOPLES (Sophomore Guard/Forward, 5-9, Sanger High School) led the Rams in scoring both games last week. Peoples recorded game-highs of 27 points (12-18 FG) and 12 rebounds in Fresno’s 68-59 home win on Saturday against Modesto. She posted 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks in Wednesday’s 58-56 loss at Merced.

WOMEN (Co-Player): Porterville College, ALMA LOPEZ (Sophomore Guard, 5-4, Earlimart High School) registered the rare "triple-double" in leading the Pirates to their first CVC win of the season on Saturday. Lopez had 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists in the 94-81 comeback win against Sequoias.

LIVE BROADCAST: The Central Valley Conference "Game of the Week" broadcast will feature the men’s showdown between College of the Sequoias and Fresno City College (Saturday at 7pm, broadcast begins at 6:50pm), as both teams enter the final week in a tie for first place at 11-1. The No. 6 Giants are 21-9 overall, while the No. 2 Rams are 28-5.
