Central Valley Conference Basketball
"Players of the Week"


MEN: College of the Sequoias, ANDREW GREEN (Sophomore Center, 6-6, 255, Perris High School, Mt. San Jacinto, Calif.) registered career-highs with 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Giants to a 75-56 home win over Columbia College on Saturday. Green also had 12 points and 7 rebounds in Wednesday’s 65-58 victory against visiting Reedley College. Sequoias (15-8 overall) now sits alone atop the Central Valley Conference standings at 4-0, and looks to crack the state’s Top 20 poll.

WOMEN: Fresno City College, VERENIQUE WARREN (Sophomore Guard, 5-5, Edison High School, Fresno, Calif.) scored a game-high 26 points in Wednesday’s 71-63 home win over Sequoias. Warren also sparked Fresno’s 73-69 overtime win on Saturday against visiting Merced by posting game-highs of 21 points and 9 assists. Fresno (17-9 overall) moved into a first-place tie with Reedley at 3-1 in CVC play.
