Women's Basketball "Co-Player
of the Week"
REEDLEY COLLEGE guard BRICALI COOLEY (5-7, So, Bullard HS) helped the Tigers
clinch the CVC title last week. Cooley had 10 points (4-8 FG) and a game-high
seven assists in Reedley's 69-40 win at Merced (Feb. 7). She added 13 points
(4-8 FG), four steals, and three rebounds as the Tigers beat Modesto, 89-54
(Feb. 10). Cooley leads the CVC in assists per game (4.5) and ranks second in
three-point field goal percentage (44%). Reedley (11-0 CVC, 28-5 overall) is
ranked third in Northern California.
Women's Basketball "Co-Player
of the Week"
FRESNO CITY COLLEGE point guard VANESSA HOUSE (5-7, Fr, Fresno HS) was awarded
for her single-game performance against Merced (Feb. 10). House recorded a double-double
with 12 points (game-high) and 11 rebounds, as the Rams beat the Blue Devils,
52-36, to break a second-place CVC tie. She also had a game-high five steals.
House ranks second in CVC assists per game (4.0) and third in steals (2.9).
No. 12 Fresno (8-2 CVC, 20-9 overall) wraps-up the CVC season at Modesto this
Wednesday, then at home against rival Reedley on Saturday.
Men's Basketball "Player
of the Week"
MODESTO JUNIOR COLLEGE shooting guard NATHAN CLARK (6-3, 180, So, Ripon HS)
had a couple of big scoring nights to lift the Pirates to a pair of wins last
week. Clark's two-game totals included 54 points scored and 12-of-17 shooting
from three-point range. He scored 26 points (9-15 FG, 6-9 3FG, 2-2 FT) in MJC's
89-74 win over Porterville (Feb. 7); then 28 points (10-14 FG, 6-8 3FG, 2-2
FT) in an 86-75 victory against Reedley (Feb. 10). Clark leads the CVC in three-point
percentage (47.8%) and ranks second in scoring (19.0 ppg). His 107 treys (on
224 attempts) ranks second among all California players.
CVC "Game of the Week"
Broadcast Men's Basketball: No. 4 West Hills at No. 5 Fresno The Central Valley
Conference Men's Basketball "Game of the Week" broadcast will feature West Hills
College at Fresno City College on Saturday, in a game likely to decide the CVC
championship title.
The broadcast will start at 6:50 p.m., airing live on coasports.org, jctalk.com,
1550snr.com, and stretchinternet.com.
West Hills (22-8 overall)
and Fresno (25-8) enter the week atop the CVC standings with 10-2 marks. On
Wednesday, the Falcons will host Sequoias (5-6 CVC), while the Rams will visit
Reedley (3-9) before the regular season finale.
