Womens Basketball
Player of the Week
REEDLEY COLLEGE guard ASPEN HAMPTON (5-11, So, Central HS) helped keep the Tigers
perfect in CVC play with two wins last week. Hampton scored 13 points and grabbed
20 rebounds in Reedleys 91-53 victory over Sequoias (Feb. 3). She also
posted a double-double against Taft, finishing with 10 points and 16 rebounds
in a 93-67 win (Jan. 31). Hampton leads Reedley in rebounds (9.5), steals (2.4),
and field-goal percentage (59%); and ranks second in scoring (11.9). The No.
3 Tigers (26-5 overall) lead the CVC at 9-0, ahead of Merced (7- 1) and Fresno
(6-2).
Mens Basketball
Co-Player of the Week
WEST HILLS COLLEGE guard BRANDON BROWN (6-1, 200, So, Hope Charter HS, Philadelphia,
PA) had scoring nights of 23 and 21 points last week, as the Falcons remained
tied for first in the CVC. Brown scored 23 points (9-18 FG) and had seven rebounds
in a 78-67 win at Columbia (Jan. 31). He added 21 points
(7-16 FG) and four rebounds in a 78-69 win over Modesto (Feb. 3). Browns
19.3 points per game ranks second in CVC overall scoring. Brown was also voted
Player of the Week after Week 2.
Mens Basketball
Co-Player of the Week
FRESNO CITY COLLEGE point guard MIKE MARCIAL (6-0, 180, Fr, Clovis HS) led the
Rams to a pair of conference wins last week. In Fresnos 75-69 overtime
win at Merced (Feb. 3), Marcial scored all 13 of his points after halftime.
His back- to-back three-pointers in overtime gave the Rams the lead for good.
Fresnos floor-leader also had six assists and three steals. Last Wednesday,
as FCC beat Porterville, 105-73, Marcial had 10 assists and six steals (both
game-highs), along with seven points. Entering Saturday, Marcial led the CVC
in assists (6.7 pg, fourth in the state) and steals (2.6). No. 5 Fresno (23-8
overall) and No. 4 West Hills remain tied for the CVC lead at 8-2 with four
games remaining in the regular season.

Womens Basketball Game of the Week broadcast will feature
Merced College at No. 10 Fresno City College on Saturday night.
The broadcast will start
at 4:50 p.m., airing live on coasports.org, jctalk.com, and stretchinternet.com.
Merced (7-1, 14-13) and
Fresno (6-2, 18-9) are both trailing Reedley (9-0) in the CVC standings with
two weeks remaining before postseason. The Blue Devils beat the Rams, 71-68,
in overtime on Jan. 17.
