Last Week:

Women’s Track and Field: Coach Lisa Bauduin’s Panthers blew past the competition this past weekend in Modesto to win their second straight Nor-Cal Championship. Sac City had 15 Nor-Cal individual champions and won the meet by 56 points over second place Modesto Junior College.

Sara Clinkenbeard who is currently ranked #1 in the state in the Hammer, Discus, and the Shot Put won all three events, setting a Nor-cal record in the Hammer (180’00) and a school record in the Discus (161’03). LaSadies McClain, ranked #1 in the state in the 200m Dash won the 100m, 200m and anchored both winning relay teams, the 4X100m and the 4X400m. Aspen Marshall finished second in the Discus and the Hammer and is currently ranked #2 in the state in the Hammer, Elizabeth Parsley won the Javelin Throw establishing herself as the #1 ranked in the state and Zaira Estrada won the 800m Run.

In addition, the following athletes qualify to participate in the State Championship Meet this Friday and Saturday in Bakersfield; Elizabeth Parsley and Nicole Matthias in the Javelin, Jimia White in the Long Jump, the 100m Dash and the 4X100m relay. Sara Clinkenbeard and Aspen Marshall in the Hammer Discus and the Shot Put. LaSadies McClain in the 100m Dash, 200m Dash and both the 4X100m and 4X400m relays. Pam Robertson in the 200m Dash, 400m and the 4X400m relay. Faunn Davis in the 100m Dash and the 4X100m relay, LaKischa Fontenot in the High Jump, the 4X100 and 4X400m relays. Ashley Nunes in the 400m Hurdles and Zaira Estrada in the 800m Run and the 4X400m Relay.

Softball: The Panthers won all three games this past weekend and now advance to the State Championship in Riverside on Saturday and Sunday. Sac City (42-2), the #1 seed will open up against Mt. San Antonio College (35-7) the defending State Champions. The Panthers will play at 3:00pm on Saturday and the game can be followed live on the Softball webcast at www.coasports.org.
