Womens Track and Field:
The Panthers traveled to San Francisco this past weekend to compete in the 23rd
Annual Johnny Mathis Invitational held at Cox Stadium at San Francisco State
University. Sac City once again performed well at the meet with some outstanding
performances from several individuals. LaSadies McClain tied for first in the
100m Dash (11.80), won the 200m Dash and was a member of both the winning 4X100m
(47.49) and 4X400m (3:58.96) Relay Teams. Sara Clinkenbeard won the Discus Throw
(153-06), the Hammer Throw (176-04) and placed second in the Shot Put (45-11.25).
Liz Parsley won the Javelin (120-00) with Aspen Marshall taking second (101-02)
and Rebecca Hart placing fourth (98-05). Marshall also went on to 4th place
finishes in the Shot Put (40-09.75) and the Discus (135-11) and also a 6th place
in the Hammer (152-03), while Parsley finished 5th in the Shot Put (39-05.25).
Additional finishes include;
LaKischa Fontenot 3rd place in the High Jump (5-02.25), Ashley Nunes 3rd place
finish in the 400m Hurdles (1:06.86), Jimia White finished 5th in the Long Jump
(17-02.00), Faunn Davis finished 6th in the 100m Hurdles (17.23) and Pam Robertson
who placed 7th in the 400m Dash (1:00.28).
Sacramento travels to Turlock
on Saturday to participate in the Stanislaus Invitational.
Swimming: The Womens
Squad won the Quad Meet held at Solano College on March 26th outscoring the
second place Solano team by six points 108-106. The mens Team finished
3rd behind Solano and Marin.
The Panthers travel to
Pasadena this week to swim in the Pasadena Invitational Friday and Saturday.
Baseball: The Panthers hosted
Delta College on Tuesday winning 6-5 with a late inning rally to improve to
10-1 in league and 16-4 overall. On Thursday Sac City traveled to Rocklin losing
to Sierra College.
The Panthers travel to
Los Medanos today and the host Porterville on Wednesday and Napa Valley on Thursday.
